Hi everyone!! So after much thought Jason and I (actually me without discussing with Jason) decided that we need to have a blog! YAY for everyone! School starts next week, not fun, but we had an awesome summer! We started the summer with me kidnapping Jason and taking a road trip to Oregon for under$100! It was so much fun we camped along the Snake river, drove through Hell's Canyon, and of course wherever Jason goes he finds a car show or something along those lines, so we looked at some cars along the way! We stopped in Boise, we were going to camp that night but it was raining so we used our fancy GPS to find a hotel! We were on a budget so I called the hotels listed and found the cheapest, needless to say Jason refused to stay in the cheapest ones which is saying a lot considering he slept on a cement floor with rats for 2 years. So we called Jasons Dad who recommended a hotel in downtown Boise that is relatively inexpensive. We walked the streets ate some hotdogs from a street vender which were delicious and made fun of all the drunk people that were bounced out of clubs because they weren't cool enough to get in. It was great! Here is our camp site and a cool chair in Wallowa Lake.
We went camping a ton almost every weekend and did a lot of off roading in the Samurai, which is our first born and we lovingly call it the Sami!! We went to Lava for Jason's first time! He had a blast and jumped off the 3rd platform. He was skeptical at first, but loved it none the less. The new slides at Lava are awesome just remember to squeeze your bum cheeks when sliding down! :) We did the annual Brems family Lake Powell trip for the 4th of July! Had a ton of fun wake boarding and cliff jumping! Jason is getting really good at wake boarding, and what can I say, I'm going pro next season! We had a ton of fun hanging out with the fam, and loved watching my little nephew ride the tube! Mark and Jodi were a blast to hang out with, and what can I say about Robert and Emily, their king of the tube matches are great!!
So that was our summer! OK so now there is something that I need to get off my chest! There are really only a few reasons women get married! The first well everyone knows that one! Second so we don't have to lift heavy objects! The third we get cheap oil changes plus hot oil burns when it runs down your arm, trust me! Fourth to eat all the crappy food we make so we don't have to :) And finally this one is just for me to protect me from snakes!! That is right I am petrified of snakes! They are nasty, they slither, the shed all their skin at once, they coil up, they don't have legs, they always stick out their tongue, they don't get places in a straight line, and finally they are just nasty! So now we all know how much I hate snakes! My lovely husband that is supposed to protect me from nasties such as these was working in Driggs and found a 4 foot gummy snake. He decided out of all the colors these gummy snakes come in he should buy the green one that is white on the bottom because it looks the most life like. He comes home after a week of working on a cabin its late at night I'm in bed half asleep, turns on the light, says "Hey Ang I have a present for you!", I get really excited because that means he thought about me and was sweet enough to get me something, right? I'm totally digging this he draws it out for a few minutes then actually threw this thing at me I screamed of course then threw it back at him, he thought it was so funny he threw it back at me, this went back and fourth a few times until he realized I was crying then felt really bad about what he did, as he should and if I could have sent him on a guilt trip I totally would have, but I can't the only one that can is his mom, which is totally unfair! That was last summer you would think he would learn not to throw anything that even resembles a snake at me right? Wrong, so totally wrong!! Jasons uncle turned 50 this year so his aunt threw him a surprise birthday party! He is even more petrified of snaked than I am and all of Preston knows this!! All of his presents had fake snakes in them. Does anyone see where this is going? This is my interpretation of Jasons thought process! "Woo fake snakes, Angie hates snakes, lets attack her with theses snakes!" So he grabs a few snakes and starts holding them in front of my face! Now I don't know if anyone knows how if feels to know that these snakes are plastic and fake but still be totally grossed out at the same time and not want them near them at all, but that is how I felt. So what does a normal person do when in this situation when a bully that is holding the bane of ones existence? Kick said person in the nuts and run away right! Just kidding I just ran away and he chased me! Not nice at all! That was just last weekend so yes I am still simmering about this! Now that that is off my chest hopefully I can get over this incident until he does something like this again!! Oh wait that is every week when he regales me with all his wonderful snake citing stories! So I guess that won't be happening until I move to Hawaii were Jodi tells me snakes do not exist!!
HA! 1st to comment! Great blog Ang. I had no idea about your fear of snakes (good to know. it may be useful someday- hehe). Love you guys! keep up the blog.
ReplyDeleteYAY a blog!! Good job Ang. Now you have to keep it up. That's the hard part!! Glad to hear you had a good summer and sorry about the snakes. That sucks. My mom is terrified of snakes too. My weakness is spiders. Ick. Well keep up the good work!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that you got a blog! Looks like you guys definitely had a fun summer - it is sad that school is starting soon though. Hope all goes well!

ReplyDeleteI HATE, HATE, HATE snakes too!!! And I totally know what you mean about getting grossed out even with fake plastic ones. I can't even see pictures and movies of them- they're so gross! In my science class we have a critter of the week that we study- some of the boys wanted to do a snake- yeah right! Fat chance on that one. We really should all just move to Hawaii. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy to see you have a blog now... and that you had such a great summer. Can't wait to see you guys again. Good luck with school!!
